Did you know? Non-adherence to proper medications costs the national healthcare system 100 to 289 billion dollars per year. Moreover, medication non-adherence results in poor health outcomes among patients. These outcomes may range from simple complications (e.g., withdrawal symptoms) to severe complications (e.g., worsening of medical conditions).
Grand Care Pharmacy takes regular precautionary measures to avoid medication non-adherence and its potential side effects. Our adherence measurements come in two ways: direct and indirect.
Direct measurement involves taking blood samples from the patient to determine the concentration of the prescribed medicines.
Indirect measurement, on the other hand, involves analysis of patients’ clinical responses, questionnaire answers, pill counts, or refill rates.
